Floor & Edge Sander

Our floor sander and edging sander hire package includes both machines — the drum sander for main floor areas and the edging sander for getting right up to skirting boards, thresholds, and corners. Together, they give you complete coverage for restoring and refinishing wooden floors. The floor drum sander (13" width, 42kg) handles the bulk of the work, stripping old varnish, paint, and accumulated grime from floorboards and parquet. The edge sander (11" disc, 17kg) reaches the 2-3 inches around the perimeter that the drum sander can't access. We supply a selection of sanding sheets and discs in grits 40 (coarse stripping), 80 (medium smoothing), and 120 (fine finishing) on a sale-or-return basis — you only pay for what you use. Return any unused sheets and discs at the end of your hire. Tip: Always sand with the grain of the wood. Start with 40 grit to strip back, then work through 80 and finally 120 for a smooth finish ready for oil, varnish, or wax.
