The JCB 8008 micro excavator is the smallest digger in our fleet — and the most versatile for tight-access projects. With retractable tracks that narrow to just 700mm, it fits through standard garden gates, side passages between houses, and even through doorways for internal demolition work. Despite its compact size, this 980kg machine delivers serious digging performance for its class. Perfect for digging foundations for extensions and conservatories, excavating for drainage runs and soakaways, preparing ground for driveways and patios, and garden landscaping earthworks. The zero tailswing design means the machine body doesn't extend beyond the track width when rotating — critical when working next to walls, fences, and parked vehicles. This is the digger that goes where larger machines simply cannot. Delivered and collected by our plant hire partner on a trailer. Our 1.5 ton mini excavator is a new-generation compact excavator that delivers significantly more digging depth and reach than the 1 ton micro, while maintaining excellent access through tight spaces. The zero tailswing design means the cab and counterweight don't extend beyond the track width when swinging — essential for working between buildings, alongside boundary walls, and on footways. With greater bucket force and deeper digging capability, this machine handles more demanding excavation work: deeper foundations, larger drainage trenches, swimming pool excavations, and significant landscaping projects that would take considerably longer with the smaller micro digger. The enclosed cab provides weather protection for all-season working (important in Staffordshire!). Our 1 ton hi-tip dumper is the fastest way to move building materials, aggregate, soil, and rubble around a construction site. The 4-wheel drive power unit is narrow enough at 1150mm to fit through most site openings, side alleys, and between houses — going where wheelbarrows would take dozens of trips. The hi-tip skip raises hydraulically to tip at height, allowing you to load directly into skips, over walls, or into raised areas without a ramp. This saves enormous amounts of time compared to manual loading and is far less physically demanding for your team. Ideal for garden clearances (paired with one of our diggers), groundwork projects where large volumes of spoil need shifting, building material distribution around a site, and any job where you need to move heavy loads across soft or uneven ground that would bog down a wheelbarrow.
