Terms of Hire

These terms apply when you hire equipment from Just Tool Hire via newcastletoolhire.co.uk, phone, WhatsApp, or in person. By placing a booking you agree to them. If anything is unclear, call 07973 642083 before confirming.
1. Who we are
Just Tool Hire supplies tool and plant hire on a delivery and collection only basis (no public trade counter). We serve Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas within our delivery radius.
2. Quotes & bookings
- Online quotes are estimates based on the hire rates, dates, quantities and postcode you enter. Final price is confirmed when we accept the booking and may change if details change.
- Bookings are subject to equipment availability. We will contact you if we cannot fulfil the dates or items requested.
- Website submissions are a request to hire — they are not a guaranteed reservation until we confirm.
3. Hire period
- Day, multi-day, weekend and week rates are as shown on the product pages at the time of booking.
- Deliveries are normally Monday–Friday. Weekend hires (where offered) typically start Friday with Monday collection unless otherwise agreed.
- Late return without agreement may incur additional hire charges. Contact us as soon as you know you need longer.
4. Delivery & collection
- Transport is charged based on distance from our depot (and any separate plant transport rules shown on your quote). Maximum delivery distance is limited; out-of-range postcodes cannot be served online.
- You must provide a safe, accessible drop-off point and someone to accept the equipment (or clear written instructions if unattended delivery is agreed).
- Access issues (locked sites, unsuitable ground, height/weight restrictions) may delay delivery or require rebooking.
5. Payment & VAT
- No account is required. Payment is normally due on delivery by cash or card unless we agree otherwise.
- Most tool hire is charged at 0% VAT. Plant hire (e.g. diggers and dumpers) is subject to VAT at the prevailing rate. Your quote shows the split where applicable.
- Plant hires may include a refundable fuel charge as stated on the quote — return the machine with the agreed fuel level to reclaim it.
6. Your responsibilities
- Use equipment only for its intended purpose and in a safe, legal manner.
- Ensure operators are competent. Some plant and power tools require appropriate experience or certification — ask if unsure.
- Protect equipment from theft, weather damage and misuse. Report defects or breakdowns immediately; do not continue using unsafe kit.
- Return items clean and in the condition supplied (fair wear excepted). Excessive cleaning, damage, loss or theft may be charged at repair or replacement cost.
7. Breakdown & substitution
If equipment fails through no fault of yours, contact us promptly. We will repair, replace or adjust the hire as reasonably practical. We are not liable for consequential loss (e.g. contractor downtime) beyond the hire charges for the affected period, except where the law does not allow that limit.
8. Cancellation
Please cancel as early as possible. Same-day or late cancellations may incur transport or restocking charges if we have already allocated or dispatched equipment. No-shows may be charged reasonably for wasted delivery.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability is limited to the hire and transport charges for the booking in question.
10. Range of equipment
The website lists equipment we currently offer for hire. We no longer supply certain lines (including stump grinders and lawn scarifiers). If an item is not listed, please call — we can advise alternatives or other local options.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
