Post Rammer

Our post rammer (also called a fence post driver) is a simple but effective tool for driving wooden and metal fence posts firmly into the ground without digging post holes. The double-handled tubular steel design slides over the top of the post, and repeated lifting and dropping drives the post straight down into the soil. Suitable for both round and square fence posts, the rammer fits standard UK fence post sizes. It's the fastest way to install a run of fencing — far quicker than digging individual post holes and back-filling with concrete, and the posts end up solidly embedded in firm ground. Ideal for garden fencing, boundary fencing, temporary site hoarding, and agricultural stock fencing. Works best in clay, loam, and sandy soils. For very rocky or heavily compacted ground, consider hiring our post hole borer instead. No fuel or power required — it's entirely manual, so you can use it anywhere without worrying about cables or fuel supplies.
